Updating Account Details
Change your email address, first name or last name.
The Account Details page shows your email address, first name, and last name. What you can edit depends on how you sign in to Elemental.
Navigating to Account Details

Open the Account menu
Click on your profile icon or name in the navigation bar.

Select Account
Choose Account from the menu. You will land on the Details tab by default.
What you'll see
The Details tab displays three fields:
- Email Address — always displayed and cannot be edited directly.
- First Name — editable for Elemental account holders (teachers and admins only).
- Last Name — editable for Elemental account holders (teachers and admins only).
Editing your details
If you sign in with an email and password, you can update your first name and last name.

Edit your name
Click into the First Name or Last Name field and make your changes. Both fields are required and can be up to 100 characters.

Save your changes
Click the Update User Details button. You will see a confirmation message when your changes have been saved.
To change your email address, please contact us. Email changes cannot be made from the Account Details page.
Google and Microsoft accounts
Google Accounts
Microsoft AccountsIf your school uses Google or Microsoft sign-in, your name and email are sourced from your Google or Microsoft account. These fields will be displayed but cannot be edited in Elemental.
You will see the message "This is from your Google account" or "This is from your Microsoft account" beneath each field.
To update your name, change it in your Google or Microsoft account. The changes will be reflected in Elemental the next time you sign in.

Depending on your account type and role, you may also see these tabs on the Account page:
- Notifications — manage your notification preferences (teachers and admins only).
- Security — change your password and manage multi-factor authentication (Elemental accounts only).
- Preferences — customise your platform preferences.
- Support — access help and support resources.
