Introducing Theoretical
Introducing Theoretical
Streamlining is one of the key drivers of everything the Elemental team is working on. As a teacher for the past 20 years, I’m intimately acquainted with how powerful this can be in freeing up time to make a bigger difference for my students. To give a positive example, my school’s move to a new Management Information System (MIS) a few years ago had a massive cumulative effect as many clunky interactions a day immediately became slick.
With Elemental we are trying to offer an examples/non-examples based platform for aural learning that is notably different to anything else available. As the trial has gone on, however, we’ve had a number of requests for the incorporation of theory content, not because there is nowhere to learn it but because of the power of having everything in one place.
We are therefore excited to announce the beta launch of Theoretical, providing online learning for music theory from reading the treble clef up to A-level theory. Our guiding principle in creating our explanations and quizzes is here:
All concepts must be grounded in sound
Every question that is being written for the Theoretical platform will pair the visual cue with the sound that it creates.
When setting homework for the next academic year, subscribers to our platform will be able to set work across Elemental, Notational and Theoretical with a single form. For more information about our products, or to come along to the launch event on September 18th, email support@elementalmusic.app.
