Elemental is used by students from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 5, so many of our users are children, some under 13. We are committed to safeguarding, and have developed Elemental in alignment with the UK Information Commissioner's Age Appropriate Design Code (Children's Code):
- No communication between students. There is no option for students to chat with, or post content that could be viewed by, other users.
- No contact with anyone outside the school. Student Data is protected and there is no option for students to contact, or be contacted by, anyone outside of their school.
- No public profiles and no social features. A student's work and progress are visible only to teachers at their own school.
- No advertising. Elemental carries no advertising, and Student Data is never sold or used for advertising.
If a student or parent contacts us
If a student, parent or other data subject contacts us directly in relation to their data protection rights, we will promptly notify and redirect the request to the School's nominated data protection contact (see Section 13), unless legally required to respond directly.
We will not communicate with students directly. Your school is the Data Controller when a Data Processing Agreement is in place, so requests about a student's data are yours to decide on, and we will support you by responding within 5 business days. Schools can reach us at privacy@elementalmusic.app.
